Academy Lessons
We welcome children into our recreational classes from the age of three. Each week, students take part in ballet technique lessons alongside our specialist Essential Skills programme.
Most children attend a weekly class throughout their training. Those with a strong commitment to dance may audition for our Scholars & Advanced Training Programme to begin more intensive study.
We encourage all students in our Recreational Programme to take exams, as these help consolidate learning and provide a rewarding sense of achievement.
Ballet Exams
At The Ballet Academy, we specialise in teaching Classical Ballet and prepare students for examinations with the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA). We encourage all students to progress through the graded examinations as follows:
- IDTA Preparatory Grade
- IDTA Primary Grade
- IDTA Grades 1–5
Students may also participate in our Advanced Training Programme to take Vocational Qualifications.
Shows
Every 18 months, our students take the stage in a full-scale school production, a true highlight of their learning journey. From dazzling costumes, make-up and stage lights, it’s an unforgettable experience that our students and parents look forward to and cherish.
